Ben Affleck is directing and starring in an upcoming movie called “Air.” Follow the story of how Michael Jordan’s family and Nike executives turned Jordan into a revolutionary shoe and brand.
Affleck plays former Nike CEO Phil Knight.
Before making the movie, Affleck wanted to get Jordan’s blessing, so he asked to meet. Unsurprisingly, Jordan invited Affleck to his golf course, The Grove XXIII, in Hobe Sound, Florida.
“I went out, I met him,” Affleck told The Hollywood Reporter. “I waited for him to finish playing. I don’t play golf. Because I feel like it eats people’s lives.
“I view golf as methamphetamine. They have better teeth, but people never seem to get out of it. Once they start playing golf, you just don’t see them again.”
Viola Davis plays Jordan’s mother, while Matt Damon, Chris Tucker and Jason Bateman play Nike executives.
‘Air’ hits theaters on May 5.
