Arsenal travel to Fulham

Good afternoon and welcome to our live blog of the Premier League match between Fulham and Arsenal. The action comes to us from Craven Cottage and it’s a balmy afternoon in South West Central London, mid fifties and a bit breezy, possibly a chance of showers later.

Arsenal, of course, are top of the League and are two points ahead of Manchester City, having played one game less than their Northern rivals. Fulham are in eighth place with 39 points, that’s the same number of points as Brighton in seventh. Seventh will be good enough to guarantee European football.

Here’s some selection info, we’ll have team news at 1pm and kick-off is at two.

Fulham will be without defender Joao Palhinha, who has been suspended. Cedric Soares, who of course is an Arsenal player on loan at Fulham, will not be playing against his parent club. Tom Cairney, Layvin Kurzawa and Neeskens Kebano are not available.

Martin Odegaard and Kieran Tierney had been unwell on the week, missing the club’s 2-2 draw at Sporting Lisbon. Leandro Trossard and Eddie Nketiah are fighting with punches.

Quite a busy afternoon in the Premier League. Manchester United plays Southampton at 2:00 p.m. and West Ham hosts Villa at the same time. I’ll bring you updates on those other two games at 2pm and then we’ll have live blog coverage of Newcastle vs Wolves later in the afternoon.

Arsenal have a very good recent record against Fulham. They have already beaten them 2-1 this season. In the 20-21 season, Arsenal won 3-0 at Craven Cottage. At 18-19 they pumped them 9-2 on aggregate home and away. You have to go back to January 2012 to know the latest success of the Cottagers: they won 2-1 thanks to Sidwell (85) and Zamora (90). noise

Fulham lost 3-2 at Brentford last time out, but they had been on a fine run before that – winning four and drawing three in their previous seven.
