by Tom Hoge turned in a record-breaking performance on Saturday during the third round of the 2023 Players Championship.
Hoge set a record at the TPC Sawgrass course, shooting a 10-under 62 with 10 birdies and no bogeys. Nine players had previously shot 63 at Ponte Vedra Beach, the most recent being Dustin Johnson in the final round in 2022.
One of the previous record holders is Colt Knost, now a member of the CBS golf broadcast team. He shot a 63 in the second round in 2016.
And he wasn’t too thrilled that his course record no longer exists.
Knost was playing golf Saturday and watched on the phone as Hoge broke his record at TPC Sawgrass. His reaction is hilarious.
